New Blog — Looking Back At The 2023 Collection
Looking Back At The 2023 Collection “Algorithm”
This new blog is a look back.
In 2023, I released a collection that didn’t really land the way collections usually are supposed to. At the time, it felt quiet. Looking back now, it feels early.
That drop came out around three years ago, during a moment when conversations about algorithms and artificial intelligence were just starting to heat up. AI was becoming a topic, but it wasn’t yet integrated into everything the way it is now. That collection was my way of responding to what I saw coming—how systems would start shaping culture, creativity, and even identity.
Now, nearly everything we interact with has AI built into it. Looking back, it’s clear that the art was ahead of its time. The ideas were already there, even if the moment wasn’t ready for them yet.
One of the things I still think about from that drop is the design itself—especially the pants and the shirts. The way they fit, the placement of the design, the overall silhouette—it wasn’t just fashion, it was messaging. That art literally explained, even then, how AI and technology would begin to take over our culture. Each piece carried a message about awareness, foresight, and intentional creation. The clothing travels with its wearer, reaching cities, streets, and people who might never know the full story—but who still encounter the idea. A single shirt or pair of pants can subtly influence the world around it.
Ironically, I lost my own pair of the pants. As far as I know, no one else has them either. I think my sister still has two hats from that collection at her house, but beyond that, whoever owns a piece from that drop might be the only person in the world with it. That’s powerful. It’s rare. And it’s proof that intentional art doesn’t just sit in a closet—it moves, travels, and carries meaning.
Not everyone was rocking with me back then. That’s fine. Moments change, people change, and goals shift. You take it to the chin and keep moving.
That experience is part of why I keep drops limited. I hate mass production. I don’t want to sell billions of the same thing. That doesn’t excite me. I’d rather sell a lot of different ideas, each with their own meaning. Rarity matters. It keeps the work honest, and yes, it helps the company too. Capitalism does what capitalism does.
The bigger conversation, though, is still AI.
I sometimes think about it spiritually. It feels like a counterfeit—almost like a mirror image of something holy. The enemy has always tried to copy what God creates. Not because he can rule, but because he wants to be like the One who rules. There’s a difference there. Jealousy is a storm.
That doesn’t mean technology is evil by default. It means intention matters. Awareness matters.
I’m grateful for the people who supported me back then, and for the new family that keeps finding this work now. I truly believe, God willing, this is becoming one of the greatest things I’ll ever build—not because I deserve it, but because God knows what I’ll do with it. I’m aware of the good, and I’m aware of the bad.
There’s something poetic about that.
I hope you enjoy your time here.
